Hairclips!!!

I've been wanting to make a line of hair clips for a while now! I finally had some time to look for a supplier and found a great one work with me on the project! The first step was to figure out what designs I wanted to try. Star Babies seemed like a no brainer, and I knew I wanted to make some clowns, ghosts, and teeth clips as well. I wanted to make two designs for this first run, and then expand from there. So what two designs? Then I had an idea, how fun would it be to have Sheriff Worm as a hair clip? I know teeth and clowns gotta happen, but for the first round I decided to do something a little different and I love how it turned out!

First I made illustrations for the manufacturer:

Then it was off to work with the manufacturer to make my designs a reality.

First they sent me some flat preliminary models:

After a few changes we went on to actual hair clips. While they're not complete yet, they are super close!

After a few more adjustments the prototypes are looking great and we are ready for production!

Now I gotta start on clowns, teeth, and ghosts!!!
